Biergarten st pauli

Biergarten St Pauli is a cozy, bohemian styled outdoor garden where you can enjoy a beer, coffee or a snack. Located along the beautiful river promenade, Akerselva. Take the tram to Birkelunden and just walk to the river. It is actually located in the same building as the institution Paulus Sykehjem, a home for elderly users.

It’s a great thing to place a bar for locals next to an institution for people with dementia. Here their related family can bring them and have some fun together. It is also great for locals having a walk along the river promenade. Open for everyone, 7 days a week, open until late – as long as the weather is good.

Here you can visit their Facebook site.

Blå (blue)- another cozy outdoor bar along the river side, but a bit longer down – near Vulkan, Mathallen (Food market). Blue is not only about concerts and disco. In the summer months you can enjoy a beer on their great outdoor seating, and enjoy the views of the river and green trees. The area is known as the home of local artists and they have decorated the area – it’s the individual artists’ design. Here you definitely don’t feel that you are in the middle of Oslo – but somewhere else. Maybe that’s why one of the signs outside say  “Ingensteds” (“Nowhere”). On Sunday evenings you can enjoy free concert with Frank Znort Orchestra (FZQ), a big band that has more than 20 members and all kinds of music and instruments. The entrance is free! They have one concert at 4pm and one a 8:30pm. Sunday night is open until late (3am).
